Blue Lizard
In kindergarten I stole a blue lizard beanie baby from Alexander during nap time on Show-and-Tell day. I was caught after saying it was Daniel Baker. I was sent to the principle's office and was told that I had to go to his office everyday until I returned it. I never did, because I had given it to my cousin Blake.
I've always been intrigued that we have to be taught what is good and what is bad. We actually have to learn as a child that murder is evil and sharing is nice. I think also we have to remember that although nice is different than good and that flowers have their dangers. Thank you public education.

question then: does that make morals innate or a learned repsonse? i mean if we have to learn to "be nice" then how can we define what nice is supposed to be...who decided what nice is?
ReplyDeletethe general statements and moral standards in societies and communities we live in. HOwever, that is different everywhere we go and so there is no absolute defenition for being nice. So, to be nice is to sit in that communal idea of what "nice" is and if we do not like it we can fight to change it, or we can move and find a place that we agree with.
